Si EJ Salamante ay isang malikhaing manunulat at propesor sa Pilipinas. Nagtapos siya sa kursong Panitikan sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas, Diliman at mayroon siyang Master's degree sa Creative Writing sa De La Salle University. Bilang isang manunulat, nakapaglathala na siya ng mga tula at maikling kuwento sa iba't ibang panitikan na pahayagan sa bansa at kabilang na rito ang Likhaan: The Journal of Contemporary Philippine Literature, Kritika Kultura, Philippines Free Press, at iba pa.

Sa kasalukuyan, isa rin siyang guro sa Unibersidad ng Santo Tomas kung saan nagtuturo siya ng mga kurso sa Panitikan at Malikhaing Pagsulat. Hindi lang sa pagtuturo at pagsusulat nakatuon ang kanyang atensyon, dahil isa rin siyang aktibong tagapagtaguyod ng sining at kultura. Siya ang naging punong abala ng mga cultural festivals sa kanyang bayan sa Cebu at nagtatag ng mga grupo ng mga manunulat at mga kabataang mang-aawit sa kanyang komunidad.

Bukod sa pagiging manunulat at guro, nagsilbing hurado rin si EJ sa iba't ibang paligsahan sa panitikan tulad ng Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature at Philippine Graphic Fiction Awards. Nakatanggap din siya ng iba't ibang parangal at pagkilala sa kanyang mga gawa, kabilang na rito ang pagiging isa sa mga pinakamahusay na manunulat ng Young Blood ng Philippine Daily Inquirer at pagkakapili bilang isa sa mga fellow ng Silliman University National Writers Workshop.
